LATAM remains confident in the resumption of air travel and will resume selling air tickets to 4 new destinations in the Northeast of Brazil: Jericoacoara (JJD), Juazeiro do Norte (JDO), Petrolina (PNZ) and Vitória da Conquista (VDC). With the increase in flights and the opening of new bases, in November this year LATAM will be able to resume 87% of its domestic seat supply in the country (measured in ASK - Seats per Kilometer Offered), compared to the same month of 2019 (period before the pandemic).

All investments reinforce LATAM's presence in the Northeast and its strategy of aggressively competing again in Brazil. With the new bases that will be inaugurated as of November, in addition to Comandatuba, Bahia (UNA) which will be inaugurated in September, LATAM will end 2021 with 49 destinations in Brazil, surpassing the 44 airports served in the country before the pandemic.

“We remain confident as the vaccination process in Brazil advances and people resume their travel plans. We are going to surpass the number of airports that we already operated across the country before this pandemic and we will continue to pay attention to all the opportunities to expand our operation to serve all those who intend to fly for leisure or work”, says Diogo Elias, Sales and Marketing of LATAM Brazil.

Ceará and Distrito Federal are responsible for a large part of LATAM's strong domestic growth, attentive to the opportunities generated by the demand of leisure travelers (tourism) and also by the return of the so-called corporate traveler. As of November this year, compared to the current operation in August, LATAM will increase its number of daily departures in Ceará by 66% and increase the number of daily departures in the Federal District by 24%.
